Long neglected, my hands have been so dry they have been peeling pretty badly. Once they start to look like leprosy, I give in. I generally don’t like to use hand cream, obviously. I just don’t like my hands feeling greasy when they are supposed to be clean, but I suppose dry hands could turn a loving caress into a scratch and a fight. Not real smooth.

I was dragged into Bath and Body Works, so I chilled in the C.O. Bigelow section. I found a hand cream that looked interesting enough to check out. The product claimed to be the ultimate, non-greasy, medicated thus healing, hand moisturizer that would make your hands feel soft and supple – ooh. It says it was developed by chemists – kinda hoping so. Fragrance-free with no artificial colors, and not tested on animals, sounds like a nice hippie-like way to go.

So, I opened it up and loved the smell instantly. Wait, fragrance-free? Oh, it’s actually peppermint (not a fragrance added). I actually got light weight excited after I tried the sample — I think it was a sample. It immediately made the peeling skin disappear, and I couldn’t see the cracks. This is some heavy stuff and does some serious moisturizing. It doesn’t leave your hands greasy, it’s more of a softness than anything, but you can definitely tell it is there. It is for jacked up hands like mine, and not a light, girly, fluff cream. So I got it… for my girlfriend’s Birthday.

I definitely recommend this C.O. Bigelow Chapped Hands Remedy. It cost $14, for 1.7 ounces, in the Bath and Body Works store. I didn’t realize how good peppermint smelled. I will use a daily hand cream now. From experience, DO NOT accidently scratch a beautiful face with your grizzly paws!
