I recently took part in the Gillette Fusion Covert Razor Operation by using the new 5 blade Fusion Power and Custom Plus 3 disposable razors. It was recently declassified, so I can speak of it now without committing treason.

Gillette Custom Plus 3 Blade Razor

Let me start by saying that I cannot use disposable razors unless I want my neck to look like a bumpy gourd, much like the one pictured to the right. However, this was the best disposable razor I’ve ever used, although the closeness of the shave left something to be desired. I’m sure you can attain a close shave with the Custom Plus 3 if you’re one of those guys that can shave against the grain, but I’m not one of those guys. I did get some razor bumps but not nearly to the extent that other disposables render. If I had to use a disposable razor, I would only use the Gillette Custom Plus 3 – or just grow a beard.

Gillette Fusion Power 5 Blade Razor

I am most pleased with the new 5 blade Fusion Power razor. I thought that the 3 blade razor I had was as good as is got. More than three blades just seemed ridiculous to me, and I thought a vibrating razor was simply a marketing ploy, but I was wrong. This is my absolute favorite razor, and I shave with nothing else. I get a close and smooth shave every time. This is the upmost AMJ approved razor to date.

Sideburn Trimming

I always have trouble with lining up my sideburns. The job is incomplete if you don’t trim a straight line, but the Fusion Power added the perfect tool for achieving a clean cut with the precision trimmer on the backside of the razor. This seemingly small extra feature did more than seal the deal for me.

Gillette Fusion Hydra Gel and Gillette Fusion Hydra Cool

Teamed perfectly with the Fusion Power razor, these two products complete the ultimate shaving experience. The Hydra Gel, enhanced with aloe and vitamin E, works wonders for sensitive skin and an ultra close and smooth shave. Followed with Hydra Cool after shave gel, the skin is cooled and hydrated and deters against those nasty gourd-like razor bumps.
