Intro
I would like to start out by saying,
I hate the word “metrosexual.”
Whenever my girlfriend has called me the “m” word, I wanted to run her make up through the dishwasher (but the dishwasher wasn’t big enough). I know you can’t bury a popular term — even if you think it’s horrible — so at least we can work with the shortened “metro” term for now. It’s a small compromise, but better (for me) nonetheless.
Hi, I’m your Average “Metro” Joe.
Actually, my name is Trent, and I’m your average white guy with an average lifestyle… if that means partying like a rockstar. I used to anyway, a lot. As you can imagine, I wasn’t very kind to my skin and hair with my whole “raver/hippie” lifestyle and wore some pretty interesting clothes. I just want to let you know that there’s hope after tie-dye.
This is my very first blog post. I’m new to this whole “blogging” thing. I admit that I haven’t actually read a blog yet. Oops, was I supposed to do that first?
I’ve learned a lot about the effects of hair care and skin care from my girlfriend. I’ve been using suggested products for some time now and realize how “metro” I’ve become. I always thought that all the “face junk stuff” was a marketing gimmick that tricked shallow people into dropping their cash. Now that I’m somewhat of a reformed “raver/hippie”-type and some of the fog has cleared in my mind, I see the error in my thinking. The “face junk stuff” does work when you use the right stuff. With so many options, it helps to be informed. No man wants to walk into a skin care isle and feel overwhelmed with the many options – that was me. But don’t worry, a lot of the process is trial and error.
Also, let’s not forget that chicks dig it! So don’t worry about what your friends say.
Taking care of your skin and hair is an investment, so do your homework, and get free samples before making a commitment… kind of like with a relationship.
I hope that my blog helps to simplify your quest for the best skin and hair products and other tips for the average metro Joe.
I’ll be back shortly with my best weekend ever, some product reviews, and some graphics – after I go check out some blogs.
Peace,
Trent
