L’Oreal Skin Genesis Daily Treatment Serum And Moisturizer
I fell off my “high horse” and ventured to try a drugstore product:
L’Oreal Skin Genesis Daily Treatment Serum And Moisturizer Combo
After using the combo for awhile, and wondering about what it’s supposed to do, I finally did some research on this new L’Oreal antiaging serum and moisturizer. I went over L’Oreal’s website and watched the L’Oreal Skin Genesis tips video from “Dr. Lydia Evans”.
The products are touted to give you stronger, tighter, brighter, smoother looking skin. It is also supposed to even your skintone while helping boost collagen production. The advanced active ingredient, “Pro-Xylane” (sided by Hyaluronic Acid) is the main theme of this marketing ploy.
This “Pro-Xylane” technology made me curious. It wasn’t exactly in Google’s dictionary or anywhere else but on the websites of L’Oreal and sister company Lancome, and some product reviews. It seems to be a made-up technology. So, I figured I’d coin my own breakthrough technology called “Tren-Oxylzyne”, and I’m coming out with the “Tren-Oxylzynetics” line once I come up with a product claim that’s mesmerizing enough. I assure you, it will do amazing things!
Furthermore, my “intensive study” on L’Oreal’s Pro-Xylane technology revealed that Pro-Xylane is a derivative of xylose, which is a wood extract, or “wood sugar.” It is small enough to penetrate the skin’s layers. Hyaluronic acid is an acid that occurs naturally in the skin, helping retain the skin’s natural moisture. Both ingredients’ definitions actually do sound like a good combo – getting a natural moisture deeper into the skin.
Most reviews that I’ve read about the Skin Genesis serum and moisturizer are positive, but the L’Oreal skin care treatment didn’t really impress me. Keep in mind that I’m biased, and this is the only drugstore skin serum that I’ve tried. Maybe I’m just spoiled by high-end French skincare! With my normal serum (by Clarins), I use minimal amounts when applying. I used the same approach with the L’Oreal and was very disappointed. Then I decided to just glob it on. It finally made my skin feel smooth and tight, just as the product claims. So yes, if used liberally, this product does perform satisfactorily and even does add a bit of a color to the face.
L’Oreal Skin Genesis is better than nothing. I did like the consistency of both the serum and moisturizer. They moisturize my face and keep it smooth. I am just looking for more. It seems that most of my favorite lady bloggers like this product, but the reviews I read were from beautiful women that didn’t really need much help to begin with. This old school partier needs much more help with my strained skin. So, if you’re already smokin’ hot with naturally radiant skin, L’Oreal Skin Genesis may be all you need. It is also great if you are on a budget. I will keep using them until I can afford to buy more of what I want.
Peace, and I’m off to find a second job to fund the purchase of my favorite serum, unless Clarins would like me to do a more in depth review of their Double Serum ![]()
