Is Olay Pro-X High-End?

March 27, 2009 Filed in: Face Stuff, Product Reviews

Olay ProXThe only thing that makes this product high-end is that I felt like my rear-end was in the air while they stuck me with the price.

I reluctantly stopped using my daily face stuff to test Olay Pro-X – a department store priced skincare set sold at a drugstore. I have been accused of being biased against drugstore anything. So, to prove her wrong I went into the testing with an open mind and was actually rather hopeful that this product would be desirable.

The first thing that jumped out was the bright shiny red package that looked like Christmas time. Now this is quite an elaborate package. I do appreciate good packaging, but it should never be overdone only to justify an over-priced $60-some tag. To be fair, it is a package with three products.

PROx Eye Restoration Complex:
I hate the eye cream. It restored my eyes to the wrinkled position.

PROx Wrinkle Smoothing Cream:
The face cream could be purchased alone. There’s nothing special about it, but I would use the face cream if I had nothing else.

PROx Age Repair Lotion with SPF 30:
The lotion is decent.

This package is not AMJ approved, but it is geared towards women that need less help. So, if you are already hot and only need to maintain, or if for some reason you just like Olay, then Amazon has a better prices than the drugstores.
